The rural tourist house Altoventoso is in Garciaz in Extremadura, Spain.
It is situated in the centre of the province of Cáceres.

The geographical surroundings are characterized by its mountain location.

The house sits at 918 metres high in the ‘Cabezas de Águila’ mountain range with some unbeatable views of the ‘Villuercas’ region to the north and of the ‘Pedro Gomez’ mountain to the south-east, which makes it one of the most beautiful enclaves in the area.
The surroundings are set apart by the beauty of the landscape, since it is located in the middle of beautiful chesnut, oak and pine forests, making for abundant flora and fauna. It is very common to see deer and wild boars, as well as a great variety of birds such as the black stork, common owls, tawny owls, wood pigeons, lesser spotted woodpecker, eagles, red kites, hawks, common buzzards, siskins, martin fisherman, houbara bustards, Montagu’s harriers, golden eagles, honey buzzards, Griffon’s vultures, carracas, hoopoes. All these and others make their home in our privileged Garciaz surroundings.

It is also an ideal environment for mushrooms to grow, including varieties such as milk caps, boletus, amanitas and many more.
The surroundings are also abundant in wild orchids.

The geographical location means that we have our own micro-climate, characterized in summer by gentle breezes and cool nights.
It is located 5 minutes from Garciaz, 25 minutes from Trujillo and 50 minutes from Cáceres and Guadelupe, 60 minutes from Mérida and 2 hours 30 minutes from Madrid.

The ‘Altoventoso’ Rural House is a renovation of an older circular building which existed in its place.
Every detail has been taken into account during its renovation, both on the outside and inside of the property, without impacting on its surrounding environment.

The house has central heating and comprises of bedrooms (with cribs and extra beds available), a living room with a fireplace, a pantry, full bathroom, fully-kitted kitchen with everything you need.

Outside there are gardens with a barbecue, summerhouse, garage, vegetable garden, a centenarian olive grove, fruit trees, pines trees, chesnut trees and mulberry trees which are typical of the region. All this sits in a space of 5 acres for both young and old to enjoy. You will be able to enjoy some spectacular sunsets from one of the terraces. We make sure our facilities have everything you need to provide comfort and enjoyment during your stay,

You can visit the Monfrague National Park, the ‘Villuercas’, the ‘dehesas’ (a meadow landscape typical of the region) amongst other things.
